MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins released fullback Rob Konrad on Monday, a year after he made just one start and missed six games with various injuries.
The 28-year-old Konrad missed the last three games of the season with an injured back and was also inactive for the first three weeks because of a bursal infection in his thigh.
Last season, Konrad had just two carries for 18 yards and eight receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. He had made 56 starts and missed only eight games in his first five seasons with the Dolphins.
The Dolphins now have three fullbacks -- Jamar Martin, Sammy Morris and James Lynch -- on the roster, but the team has been in talks with free agent fullback Heath Evans, a four-year veteran of the Seattle Seahawks.
